President enrols first batch for Pallekelle Buddhist Academy

The first batch of 103 degree and diploma students were enrolled to
the proposed Pallekelle International Buddhist Academy at a ceremony
presided by President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Pallekelle International
Buddhist Research Centre premises yesterday morning.
The President also laid the foundation stone for the proposed Academy
Complex at the Research Centre yesterday as the Maha Sangha led by the
Malwatte and Asgiriya prelates chanted Seth Pirith. The degree and
diploma courses of the proposed academy will be conducted at the
Buddhist Research Centre premises until its own building complex is
completed. The President also launched the academy’s website and
laboratory.
