New Housing Development Minister
Former Deputy speaker and MEP stalwart
Geethanjana Gunawardene was yesterday sworn in as non-Cabinet
Minister for Housing Development before President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Gunawardene resigned from the post of Deputy Speaker last week in
agreement with the President.

Hakeem to re-enter House
SLMC Leader and former Parliamentarian Rauff
Hakeem yesterday resigned from the post of opposition leader of the
Eastern Provincial Council to give a wide representation to the
Muttur people in the Eastern provincial council, SLMC spokesman and
MP Hassan Ali said yesterday.
