New Housing Development Minister

Former Deputy speaker and MEP stalwart Geethanjana Gunawardene was yesterday sworn in as non-Cabinet Minister for Housing Development before President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Gunawardene resigned from the post of Deputy Speaker last week in agreement with the President.

He is the brother of Urban and Sacred Area Development Minister and Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardene.
