The Ceylon Tamil Teachers Union in an official
communiqué issued Tuesday called upon all its members to take part
in the islandwide general strike scheduled for today in a show of
support for the one-day token strike organised by the Marxist JVP
with the blessings of main opposition UNP., the pro-LTTE TamilNet
