US$ 500 m sovereign bond issue oversubscribed

The five-year US Dollar sovereign bond issue offered by the Government has received more than US$ 1.25 billion orders overshooting the target by more than 200 per cent, reflecting investor confidence in the island’s US$ 26 billion economy.

The International Conference on Counter Terrorism which will commence today at the BMICH, would pave the way in forming a common agenda to overcome the threat of terrorism globally, with the forum providing a much needed platform for experts to share their experiences, Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said yesterday.
