These students attached to the Inar South (Primary) Vidyalaya in Velanai Island adjoining Kayts have pursued their educational activities with determination despite various obstacles such as the past conflict and the lack of nourishments, books, stationery, equipment and proper infrastructure facilities. 300 MW to national grid from 2006: Green light for Trinco coal plant

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the establishment of the first coal fired power plant (300 MW) at Clappenberg, Trincomalee with private sector participation, the Power and Energy Ministry announced yesterday.
