Lanka name 15-member Test squad against Pakistan :

Jeevan Mendis only uncapped player

Leg spinning all rounder Jeevan Mendis is the only uncapped player in the 15-member Sri Lanka squad named by the Cricket Selectors led by former Sri Lanka fast bowling all rounder Asantha de Mel. Mendis wa named in the squad from which the final eleven will be picked to play Pakistan in the First of Three Test matches beginning at the Galle International Stadium on Friday.

Sri Lankan men trounce Thailand in Kabaddi

For the first time in history of kabaddi in Sri Lanka, a mens beach kabaddi team bagged a stunning victory of 52-38 over much fancied Thailand when they made their first appearance in the Third Asian Beach Games in Fengxiang Beach, Haiyang, China last evening.

Cambrians win by 35 runs

Prince of Wales College beat Nalanda College, Colombo by 35 runs in their inter-school Under-17 Division One Cricket Tournament match played at Moratuwa. Taking the first lease Cambrians made 166 runs with Suchira Fernando and Kusal Mendis scoring 34 and 33 runs respectively.
