Five wicket win for St Thomas’ Matara

St. Thomas’ College Matara opened their under 17 season with a convincing five wicket win against Devapathiraja college Rathgama recently.

This is the first match of the schools under 17 division one tournament to be played in Matara and was played at the Sanath Jayasuriya grounds.

Devapathiraja were all out for 128 runs in 42.3 overs with Ravindu Chathurtha claiming four wickets for fifteen runs.

Wicket keeper Ramindu Nikeshala scored 37 runs which included five boundaries and a six for the visitors.

STC skipper Lasith Lakshan was unbeaten on 87 from 64 balls with ten boundaries and five sixes to see his team reach 129 for the loss of five wickets in 26.5 overs.
