Christine narrowly misses semis
Sri Lanka’s Christine Sonali Merrill narrowly
missed a chance of making it to the semi finals of women’s 400m
hurdles on day three of the 13th IAAF World Championships continued
in Daegu Stadium here today. Portugal’s Vera Barbosa, who finished
just ahead of Merrill at the fifth place with a timing of 56.31
seconds qualified for the semi finals.

Joes U-15 cager champions
St. Joseph’s College, Maradana walked away with
the under 15 ‘A’ division Basketball Championship Trophy when they
tamed the Colombo International College (CIS), Kandy team in an
exiting final match at the Asian International College courts
yesterday (50-43).

the league tournament today, which will be played at Science College
ground and Havelock Park. After these games, based on the points,
