Five held over Haputale killings

The Police have arrested five persons and identified another 23 persons involved in the inhumane murder of two young door-to-door hawkers at the Thotalagala Estate in Haputale on August 11 mistaking them for ‘suspicious characters’.

‘PR key to maintain law and order’

Public relation is key to maintain the law and order in the country. Police officers’ prime duty is also to maintain the law and order by conducting investigations and arresting suspects, said Additional Solicitor General Palitha Fernando at a public lecture on “Accountability of the Police Officer” held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Auditorium recently.
