Tri-shaw traveller waylaid, Rs 45,000 stolen

A person travelling in a three wheeler was assaulted and robbed of Rs 45,000 by some unidentified persons who waylaid him at Anura Cross Road junction along Anderson Road, Dehiwala around 2 pm on Sunday.

Kohuwala police investigating the incident, has arrested two suspects resident in Nedimale in this connection.

Investigations are continuing.

Meanwhile, Muthuthan-thrige Niroshan Cooray, 20, of Dewalapola, Minuwangoda drowned while bathing in the sea off Eththukale, Negombo on Sunday around 3 pm. Negombo police are investigating.
