Value addition in spices
The year 2011 was declared as value addition year
for the spice industry by Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa
Abeywardana. The seventh Annual General Meeting of the Spice Council
was held in Colombo, last Friday.

Second international destination after Kathmandu:
SpiceJet flies to Lanka
India’s low cost carrier SpiceJet was launched
in Sri Lanka last week. It will operate daily flights between
Colombo and Chennai. SpiceJet Chief Commercial Officer Samyukth
Sridharan said this was their second international operation after
Kathmandu.

Hotels will initiate a novel concept to the tourism and hotel
industry with the farm accommodation project in Vakarai. It will be
