DIMO wins at NTC Bus Exhibition

The NTC Bus Exhibition 2010, organised by National Transport
Commission, was the first bus and coach exhibition in Sri Lanka. The
exhibition was host to a large number of leading bus and coach suppliers
from around the island.
Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) was awarded 'Most Attractive
Bus Display' at the exhibition.
The DIMO Stall at the exhibition boasted some of the most innovative
technology in modern transport.
DIMO represented TATA, the fifth largest light and medium weight
commercial vehicle manufacturer in the world.
The stall displayed the TATA bus range which varied from 24 seater
buses to hefty 57 seaters, including the internationally renowned luxury
tourist coach line 'TATA Globus' and the newly launched 'TATA Starbus'
which has set new standards for public bus transportation. The stall
also focused on DIMO's legendary after sales service which includes
genuine spare parts availability and 24 hour road side assistance.
Seylan Bank rewards cardholders
The first ten winners of the Seylan Super Market Sweep were taken to
the Laugfs Sunup Super Market, where they were given five minutes to
fill up their carts upto a maximum of Rs 25,000.
Seylan Bank will carry out a monthly draw until January 2011 and each
month ten winners will be drawn as winners from a draw.
Cardholders have to make purchases at any merchant outlet using
Seylan Debit or Credit Cards for Rs 500 or more each month from August
15, 2010 to January 15, 2011. With each purchase of Rs 500 cardholders
will stand multiple chances of winning at the draw.
The next draw will be held during the third week of October 2010.

Dulux launches new exterior coating
With the increasing trend towards high rise buildings, Dulux offers
an ideal coating to protect interior and exterior walls. 'Dulux Speed
Prime and Seal', is a new high performance exterior coating.
"This new product provides unsurpassed levels of protection for walls
from alkali attacks and water penetration," a spokesman of Akzo Nobel
Paints Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, distributors of Dulux paint said.
He said that extensive research has gone into perfecting the product
which has proved that it is the best for the protection of walls
particularly for new buildings.
This water-based product is specially formulated for early
application on plastered masonry walls to protect the top coat from
discoloration and staining due to alkali attacks.
It helps to eliminate water penetration and counter attacks fungal
and algae formation. Once Dulux Speed Prime and Seal is applied on a
wall it increases the coverage of the top coat (Weathershield/Pentalite)
by 30 percent.
The spokesman said that if properly applied, it will be effective for
at least seven years.
Thus it will be a very cost-effective exercise to use the product.
He said that a five coat system can be applied for exterior walls
using Dulux Weathershield and speed prime and seal.
It comprises one coat of new Dulux Weatheshield Prime and Seal, two
coats of Crack-bridging Wall Primer, a premier quality waterborne
primer, and two coats of Weathershield Extra.
