UNP Moneragala nomination fiasco:

Tissa Kuttiarachchi goes to Court

U Chaminda Janaka Tissa Kuttiarachchi whose name was deleted from the Moneragala UNP candidates list filed a Fundamental Rights petition yesterday before the Supreme Court requesting that his name be entered on the nomination list presented by the UNF for Moneragala District or to disallow the whole list if his name could not be accommodated.

Johnston predicts two-thirds

With his arrival in the UPFA, the number of voters voting for the UPFA increased by 100,000 during the Presidential Election. He can assure that it will be increased by another 100,000 at the forthcoming General Election giving the UPFA a two-thirds of votes in the Kurunegala District. Lands, Land Development and Armed Forces Welfare Minister Johnston Fernando told the Daily News yesterday.
