Johnston predicts two-thirds

With his arrival in the UPFA, the number of voters voting for the UPFA increased by 100,000 during the Presidential Election. He can assure that it will be increased by another 100,000 at the forthcoming General Election giving the UPFA a two-thirds of votes in the Kurunegala District. Lands, Land Development and Armed Forces Welfare Minister Johnston Fernando told the Daily News yesterday.

Actually the UNP voters have been changing their loyalty and coming to the UPFA. However, even if certain opposition candidates of my district criticize me they cannot get the support of the voters. They are trying to market their leader but they do not know they have taken their personal wishes to their political lives and are going to be defeated again, he added.

He said the UPFA has a high percentage of youth joining and the knowledgeable and professional people were backing the policies adopted by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
