JHU has done significant service

The Jathika Hela Urumaya’s emergence has ensured the people to live proudly as a nation, said Jathika Hela Urumaya General Secretary Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera.

The Thera was speaking at an inaugural meeting in support of the party candidate Thushara Swarnathilake in the Kandy district held at Green Park Hotel, Pilimathalawa said the people go to Nagadeepaya with their heads raised.

Today, we are highly gratified to see a liberated Sri Lanka despite the fact our party fails to get the credit for winning the war.

There was a time when even the Mahanayake Theras were scared to talk about Buddhism.

It was in this context, the Hela Urumaya came forward.

The party has in fact done a significant service to the welfare of the country, Ven. Thera said.

Harispattuwa former SLFP organiser Sena Dayanande, Ven. Missaka Kamalasiri Thera, Senior lecturer Dr. Ranjith Wijewardene and several others were also present.
