UPFA Ratnapura leader’s cut-outs set on fire

Ratnapura District UPFA Election Operation office reported that the cut-outs erected at the UPFA election campaign office of UPFA Ratnapura group leader and Minister W. D. J. Seneviratne situated at Pohorabawa, Namaldeniya in Eheliyagoda had been set on fire and destroyed by unidentified persons last week.

The Election Office further stated that this incident had taken place despite the pledge given by the leaders of all political parties in Ratnapura District to the effect that they would conduct a peaceful election campaign in the district.

They alleged that this incident had been caused by a power-hungry political group to create tension in the area.
