President promises smaller Cabinet
The future Government has no intention of having
a large Cabinet of Ministers, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Addressing the Badulla SLFP district organisers’ meeting at
Bandarawela Town Hall on Saturday, President Rajapaksa said young
politicians with commitment and a correct attitude would be given a
major role to play in the Nation’s future development.

Ganeshamoorthi Gunam (Kaludavalai), Thangeswari Kadirgaman and
Ramesh are to contest under the UPFA. Another candidate’s name will

Securing two thirds easy for UPFA
During the last Presidential Election, the UNP
was razed to the ground while the JVP was fully routed to the zero
level. In this backdrop, it is very easy for the UPFA to secure a

Youth leadership for country’s development
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is making all
efforts to develop the country with youth participation so that
their future could be made prosperous. Towards this end, the
President has appointed Sanath Jayasuriya from Matara and myself
from Hambantota districts, President of Tharunyata Hetak Movement,
Namal Rajapaksa said in Matara on Saturday.
