People accepted Mahinda Chinthana

The people of the country have wholeheartedly accepted the 'Mahinda Chinthana' policies and the Presidential Election victory has amply demonstrated this factor, Matara district leader of National Freedom Front and UFFA candidate Sarath Weerawansa said in Matara party office recently.

The JVP candidates who contested under the UPFA symbol in the past polled handsomely and secured several seats. However, they were routed badly. When contested as a single party.

Even their party activists left the party when they (JVP) joined hands with the UNP and supported General Sarath Fonseka at the Presidential Election, he said.

The UNP too cannot keep their party people intact today. They have realised the correctness of Mahinda Chinthana and joined hands with the Government.

Today the President intends to form a strong Parliament with two thirds majority and make the country a prosperous one.

Today the people are also intelligent enough and have realised that only an experienced politician like President Mahinda Rajapaksa can ensure democracy and human rights in the country and not by persons like an Army Commander, Sarath Weerawansa said.
