President Mahinda Rajapaksa is making all efforts to develop the
country with youth participation so that their future could be made
prosperous. Towards this end, the President has appointed Sanath
Jayasuriya from Matara and myself from Hambantota districts, President
of Tharunyata Hetak Movement, Namal Rajapaksa said in Matara on
Saturday.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a party office in Matara of
cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya, he said.
Both Sanath and myself never thought of entering into politics. It is
the opposition parties in the country that propelled us into this field.
Therefore we thank opposition for allowing this opportunity.
These districts have got a good leadership to air the grievances of
the youth, Rajapaksa said. Sanath Jayasuriya, said his sole aim was to
render a good service to the people of the country through politics and
added that proper time had come for him to serve the people without
considering their party politics. |
