Forces recover LTTE arms cachè

The Security Forces engaging in search and clearing operations in the Northern theatre recovered gas bombs and a stock of arms left behind by the LTTE cadres. Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said troops conducting extensive search and mopping up operations in Elephant Pass, Mullaitivu, Puthukudiruppu, Nadunkerni and Vellaimullivaikkal have recovered a cache of arms and explosives including 10 CF gas bombs and computer hardware on Saturday.

Bank robbery suspect arrested

A person alleged to have links with underworld and involved in many crimes was arrested by Mt.Lavinia Crime Division on Saturday in Soyza Road, Moratuwa. Police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwake said Duminda alias Army Manju (36) was nabbed by a special team from Mt. Lavinia Police at around 6.00pm on Saturday.
