SLFP National Convention:

Over 100,000 to participate

More than 100,000 SLFP members from all over the country including those from Jaffna, Mannar and Vavuniya, would participate at the National Convention of the SLFP to be held at the Khettarama grounds next Sunday (15), Education Minister Susil Premajayantha told Daily News yesterday.

A number of resolutions of national importance would be moved at the convention. As the convention was to be held at a crucial time in the political history of the country it had to be postponed from September to November 15, he said.

A large number of SLFP members from branches abroad will also be participating in the convention and representatives of political parties from other countries too have been invited for the convention, Minister Premajayantha said.
