Arrested for attacking Policeman

A person has been arrested in connection with the assault of a Police officer attached to the Chilaw Police while returning home after duty, Chilaw Police said.

The suspect was a resident of Weerakumandaluwa in Bangadeniya.

The Police said that Sergeant Nandana attached to the Community Police Unit had been assaulted and his motor bicycle damaged in the Bangadeniya area on October 24, while he was returning home from the Police Station.
