Chery records 1.5m sales
In March 2009, though under the global auto market depression, Chery
carried out the second-phase development strategy of building a
international famous brand and realized the leaping development,
achieving a sales volume of 500,000 units in less than two years, making
a breakthrough of 1.5 million in 12 years.
In January 2009, Chery achieved a climax in the company’s
history |
Chery becomes the fastest-developed company among the Chinese
"One-million Club". The achievements astonished the whole world, and the
outstanding performance has become the honour of the Chinese automobile
industry.
In 2009, all global car giants are struggling hard with the financial
crisis. However, showing confidence as a strong competitor, Chery set
forth the 2009 sales target of 419,000 units, an 18 percent sales
increase over 2008. In January 2009, Chery achieved a climax in the
company's history, with sales volume of 35,000 units, and in February,
with sales volume reaching 30,000 units, Chery created an all-time high
of the corresponding period in history, and in March, Chery again
reached a new high of 35,000 units. Within three months, Chery created
the highest quarter sales volume of more than 100,000 units.
With the implementation of "Brand, Quality, Service" strategy, on the
basis of steady growth in QQ and some other entry-level cars,
represented by A3, Tiggo 3 and A5, the sales volume of middle-class cars
significantly increases month by month, becoming the leading force of
Chery sales volume growth.
The progress in the first quarter 2009 is not only reflected in the
sales volume achievements and products structure optimization, but also
in the unprecedented scope of new product launch. All these demonstrate
the profound strength of this company with independent R & D.

Rising demand for condominiums:
Trillium Residencies nearing completion
With the return of peace to the country, the demand for condominiums
is bound to rise in the near future.
Trillium Residencies - which is nearing completion - is a good
investment option. The main contractor and project partner Sanken Lanka
has assured project completion in January 2010.
The Condominium Management Authority has approved a semi-condominium
plan for Trillium, and a management corporation has been formed.
120 apartments of the Sunset Wing will be completed soon. The entire
Trillium project - which includes the Park Wing and the Golf Wing -
comprises 300 apartments with all the facilities for modern living.
The Park Wing and the Golf Wing have been sold out and delivered to
the buyers, so this is the final chance to move into this condominium
complex.
Condominium Management Authority Chairman Abul Kalam foresees.
He said that main reason for the increasing demand for condominiums
is the return of peace and the end of the fear psychosis.
"I think a luxury condominium is a good investment that offers higher
returns compared to other options." There is a trend in Sri Lanka
towards living in high-rise buildings with all facilities under one
roof, said Kalam.
The uniqueness of Trillium lies in its eco-friendly landscaping prime
location and ultra-modern facilities that match international standards.
"This is a benchmark development project that others could emulate", he
said.
Sanken Lanka, the main contractor and project partner of Trillium,
did a great deal to ensure that it reached the highest standards of
construction. Sanken Lanka Managing Director Ranjith Gunatilleke said
that the Sunset Wing will be completed on schedule.
Design Consortium Ltd Chairman - the Consultant Architect of the
project - Prof. Lakshman Alwis said Trillium is an award-winning project
of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects.
Among the facilities provided by Trillium are a swimming pool, a club
house, a gym, a badminton court, jogging track, rooftop garden and a
park for children. There is also a split level parking area and every
other amenity for modern living, including a daycare centre, convenience
store/mini-market and laundry collection centre. Such facilities pushed
the demand for the earlier two wings. In fact, the Park Wing sold out
even before the foundation stone was laid, and the Golf Wing too was
snapped up quickly. |
