Iran rule out talks on nuclear rights
IRAN: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that the
nuclear issue is over and Iran will never negotiate on its undeniable
nuclear rights.
"From our view point, the nuclear issue is finished," Ahmadinejad
told a press conference, "we will never negotiate on the Iranian
nation's obvious rights." "We will continue our work in the framework of
global regulations," Ahmadinejad said, adding that Iran will continue
its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Ahmadinejad said Iran is ready for talks with world powers on global
issues in a "fair and logical" framework. "Iran is ready for talks with
world powers on global challenges, " he said, adding "we will talk with
any country that is interested in this."
In response to the world powers' invitation for nuclear talks, Iran
has prepared its new package of proposals, said Ahmadinejad, without
giving the exact time to present the package.
"We are still waiting for their change of attitude," he said, adding
"they will not benefit from continuing previous attitude."
The United States and other Western countries claim that Iran intends
to secretly develop nuclear weapons. The UN Security Council also
requires Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment activity.
Iran, however, insists that its nuclear plan is only for peaceful
purposes, vowing to continue its uranium enrichment activity despite
pressure and sanctions from Western countries. Xinhua |
