Vigilance leads to detection of heroin, peddlers

The vigilance of the Anti- Narcotic Bureau officials has led to the detection of some foreign and local key drug peddlers within a week leading to the seizing of around four kgs of heroin.

DIG in-charge of the Anti-Narcotic Bureau and Police Field Force Headquarters Sisira Mendis said three Pakistani nationals and several local drug peddlars were nabbed by the Anti-Narcotic Bureau officials. Two Pakistani nationals and three local drug peddlers were arrested on Friday.

“Initially a Pakistani and his local assistants were arrested in Colombo. On their information another Pakistani drug peddler was arrested along with 900g of heroin,” he added.
