DEW calls for stringent accountability:

CID probes urged on COPE issues

Report covers 229 state institutions:

Human Resources Senior Minister and chairman of COPE D E W Gunasekara yesterday stated that he stressed to the Secretaries of ministries or Chief Accounting Officers of government institutions, the need to take legal action or direct matters to the CID or Bribery Commission, wherever necessary, in relation to accountability issues in state institutions.

Bharatha Lakshman killing: CID directed to expedite investigations

Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna Alwis who is hearing the case in the killing of Presidential trade union advisor and former Colombo District Parliamentarian Baratha Lakshman Premachandra yesterday, directed the Criminal Investigation Department to expedite the ongoing investigations, obtain advice from the Attorney General and report to court.
