Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and his Indonesian counterpart signed an agreement in the presence of President Rajapaksa on visa exemption for officials and diplomatic corps between the two countries at a ceremony at Temple Trees. Pakistani Security Forces took control of a police academy in Lahore on Monday after militants rampaged through the complex, killing at least eight cadets and wounding scores before holing up inside for hours.

ILO helps modernize labour administration


Sri Lanka has taken measures to modernize labour administration with technical assistance from the International Labour Organization (ILO). The new changes will ensure participation, credibility, transparency and responsibility, the principal elements in good governance essential for effective and efficient functioning of the labour administration, said Secretary, Ministry of Labour Relations and Manpower Mahinda Madihahewa.
