Morales calls for new World Order
Bolivia: Bolivian President Evo Morales was scheduled to fly to Doha,
Qatar Sunday for the Second Arab-South American Summit, where he will
advocate for a new multilateral world order to face the current global
financial crisis.
Bolivia lacks economic and military power, but it does have
initiatives aimed at dealing with the financial, food, energy and
environmental crises, Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca said at a news
conference.
According to the official, Morales will express his ideas while
addressing the Arab and South American leaders attending the Doha
meeting.
Morales has insisted on the need to build a new world order to
replace the failed economic and social policies imposed by the
capitalist system, he added.
He has also urged to take a responsible stance to counter the
negative effects of climate change and to launch a crusade to
nationalize public services as electricity, water, education and public
health.
