Mysterious explosion rocks Galewela

A mysterious explosion heard in Pihillayaya in Wahakotte in Galewela caused panic among the people in the area around 9 a.m. yesterday.

Residents said the sound of the explosion heard upto a distance about one and a half miles drove fear into their minds thinking it was a bomb explosion, Galewela Police which rushed to the area following public complaints were unable to find any clues about the cause of the explosion upto noon yesterday.

Police investigations were continuing directed by OIC Inspector Mahesh Perera.
