Vesak celebrations

*Aturaliya- Yahamulla Sri Bodhirukkarama Sacred Area Development Foundation is celebrating the Vesak week with a series of religious programmes such as Mal Perahera, atavisi Buddha Pooja, seth pirith chanting, lectures on Buddhist activities and dhamma desana. An Aloka Pooja with 2,600 oil lamps will be held under the guidance of Ven Yahamulle Anuruddha Thera.

*Vesak lantern competition organised by Nochchaduwa Provincial Secretariat in collaboration with the Sri Bodhirukkarama Temple will be held on May 24 and 25 aty the Aluthwewa Bodhirukkarama Temple. Anuradhapura District MP Shehan Semasinghe will be the chief guest. The first three winners will receive Rs 10,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000.

*Bujjomuwa Railway Station Development Foundation is collecting funds in the area to save cattle from slaughter to be released in a ceremony on May 24 at the Bujjomuwa railway station premises.

*Sri Sugath Dhamma School of Sri Bodhimalu Viharaya, Alawwa will conduct a sil campaign on May 24 and Kavi Bana on May 25 under the guidance of Ven Ganekande Gunaratne Nayaka thera.
