The latest edition of the annual Dinamina Vesak (Kalapaya) published by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (ANCL) was launched yesterday at the ANCL premises under the patronage of members of the Maha Sangha.

The first copy was presented to Most Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawansa Anunayaka Thera by ANCL Chairman Bandula Padmakumara.

ANCL General Manager Abhaya Amaradasa said at the ceremony that “The Dinamina Vesak Kalapaya which was launched over five decades ago has taken the lead in heralding a revival of Buddhism.

The edition has valuable articles on Buddhism, Philosophy and Buddhist Civilization. Lake House publishes several Buddhist publications named as “Aloka Udapadi” and “Budu Sarana”.

“We can see a number of Vesal Kalapaya in several areas of the country during the Vesak season. But, the Dinamina Vesak Kalapaya is the only Vesak Kalapaya which we can experience throughout the year”, the Ven. Thera said.

“Lake House was started by its founder, the late D. R. Wijewardene to assist the country’s freedom struggle and create a revival of Buddhism and culture.
