Mihintale MV student is World New Inventor

at the World New Inventors’ Competition held in Phoenix,
Arizona in the United States for the invention he submitted

K. P. D. A. C. Kapuge, a grade 13 student of Mihintale Maha Vidyalaya
has won the first prize at the World New Inventors Competition held in
Phoenix, Arizona in the United States for the invention he submitted as
Sri Lanka’s entry.
The competition was conducted from May 12 to 17. The new invention
presented by Kapuge was a tractor like machine which could be used to
clean up the weir( ridge in the paddy field) during the preparation of
farm land for cultivation purposes.
Kapuge who is studying in the technology stream at Mihintale MV had
his initial education at Mahadiwulwewa Vidyalaya, Galenbindunuwewa.
He has notched several prizes and awards at national new inventors’
competitions earlier with the support from his Principal S M Kapila
Seneviratne, who is also the master-in-charge of the technology subject
and school staff.
