Special probe into alleged FFSL fraud
Under the instructions of Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage,
the Secretary of Sports has appointed a special committee headed by
Chairman of the Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Authority Brigadier
Priyantha Samarathunga to probe into alleged financial frauds at the Sri
Lanka Football Federation, the Sports Ministry said.
Some of yesterday's newspapers revealed that Rs. 550 million which
was received from FIFA to Football Federation of Sri Lanka to develop
football grounds and infrastructure facilities in Sri Lanka has been
misused.
Accordingly, Minister Aluthgamage instructed to appoint a committee
to probe into the matter and to compile the report to the Ministry of
