Under-17 boys ‘B’ division basketball:
DE LA SALLE reign supreme
De La Salle College, Mutwal walked away with the
boys' under-17 'B' division basketball championship beating St.
Anne's College, Kurunegala 78-41 in the final at their home courts
yesterday. Both teams seemed to be equally tough at the initial
stage and Annites played with a good teamwork despite the roaring
cheers and home crowd support received from the Lasallians. Annites
sealed the fist quarter with a slight one-point lead keeping the
strong home team on the back seat (14-13).

HSC Blacks win Open 3x3 National Selection Tournament
SLBF Men’s and Women’s Open 3x3 National
selection tournament was held on April 27 and 28 at the Hendry
Pedris Basketball Complex. The tournament implemented a new method
of selecting players for the national 3x3 pool. It was the first
time in Sri Lanka that a tournament of this manner took place, where
the National selectors had to individually rank the players who took
part in the above tournament.

Trinity bounce back with 35 - 25 win over Peterites
Trinity College Kandy bounced back to score a
superb 35 points to 25 win over the formidable St.Peter’s College
Colombo to keep their hopes alive of clinching the Singer under 20
‘A’ division league rugby title. Thus the lads from Kandy not only
made amends for their 15 - 29 defeat at the hands of S.Thomas’
College Mount Lavinia, but also inflicted the first defeat on the
Peterites this season.. The Trinitians made maximum use of the
possession which came their way by running the ball at every
opportunity, and also exploited the mistakes made by the Peterites.
