BPC shares fraud prevention expertise with leading Asian banks

BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System e-payment solutions for the global financial industry, welcomed leaders from the financial services communities in the Philippines and Vietnam to seminars in its ongoing Future of Payments roadshow. The events were focused on the ever increasing threat of fraud in the region and the latest tools and techniques to prevent fraud from affecting customers. Based on BPC?s worldwide experience, it is clear that fraudsters are targeting countries in Asia Pacific which do not have access to the latest in advanced fraud prevention solutions or full rollouts of EMV.

While considerable emphasis is placed on ATM fraud, extremely high levels of fraud are taking place across all channels and in the card-not-present space, and the BPC organized seminars were designed to share global experiences with the audiences in Vietnam and the Philippines.

SmartGuard is designed, not only to counter the threat, but to stop the fraud before it happens. The solution uses a sophisticated risk weighting approach to help determine the correct course of action. clearly fraudulent transactions are stopped, clean transactions are allowed through and suspicious transactions can be referred for further investigation.

SmartGuard tracks 100% of online transactions, delivering a truly holistic picture of data monitoring. The solution monitors transactions from both traditional and emerging delivery channels such as POS and ATM terminal devices, e-commerce, and m-commerce.

This market proven solution has been implemented across the world, supporting, in one instance, 30 million transactions per day. As e-commerce continues to grow, BPC has launched Fraud Prevention as a Service model.
