Global CarbonNeutral certification for SAES Summit

The Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS), has obtained global CarbonNeutral certification for the 6th South Asia Economic Summit, (SAES) due to be held from September 2 to 4 this year in Colombo.

The 6th South Asia Economic Summit is a regional forum that brings together academia, government, civil society and the private sector to discuss and debate socio-economic challenges facing the region.

Inaugurated in Colombo in 2008, the summit has been held in a different South Asian capital each year. This years summit is expected to host over 100 foreign delegates from South Asia and beyond, together with a further 200 Sri Lankan delegates.

This is the first time a conference of this scale and duration in Sri Lanka has received the CarbonNeutral certification from the CarbonNeutral Company in the UK.

It signifies the commitment of the IPS to maintaining environmental integrity while engaging in fruitful dialogue with partners at home and abroad.
