A Sri Lankan woman and an Indian expatriate, both lovers, were
arrested by officers from Khaitan Police Station in Kuwait City for
peddling local and imported liquor.
This followed information security operatives received about their
activities.
Sources said a team was formed to follow up their activities and an
undercover agent sealed a deal with the suspects to deliver an
unspecified quantity of local and imported gin.
They were arrested during the delivery of the contraband, with 79
bottles of imported gin and 212 bottles of local brew in their
possession. Initial investigations revealed the two suspects are lovers
and they have since been referred to the concerned authority for action.
