Refuses to order ban on training Lankan Armed

The Indian Supreme Court refused to order a ban
on training personnel of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces. Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister J Jayalalitha earlier asked Indian Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh to halt an ongoing training programme for two Sri
Lankan defence personnel at the Defence Services Staff College in
Wellington near Ooty.

Tips from Police to identify counterfeit notes
The Police yesterday urged the public to be
careful as they have received a number of complaints regarding
counterfeit notes. They have detected counterfeit notes in the
denominations of Rs 500, Rs 1,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,000. A Police
spokesman said fake notes can be handed over hidden inside a bundle
of original notes.
