Police ensures:
Maximum security for doctors
Investigations into cases to be expedited:
The Police yesterday reiterated that it would
ensure maximum security for medical officers. Western Province
Senior DIG, administration Gamini Navaratne in a special press
release issued via the Police Public Relations Media Unit said the
Police will expedite investigations into cases in respect of
security of medical officers.

Suspended sentence for possessing hand grenade
Panadura Provincial High Court judge Kusala
Sarojanee Weerawardena sentenced a man to two years’ rigorous
imprisonment suspended for 10 years and imposed a Rs10,000 fine when
he pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing a live hand grenade
while travelling in a three wheeler.
