Lankan jailed for 20 years in India

A Sri Lankan, a kingpin of a gang which smuggled narcotic drugs to Sri Lanka was jailed for 20 years, while two of his accomplices were given 10-year jail terms each in India.

All three Sri Lankans were nabbed by the Narcotics Control Bureau of India in 2004 for their involvement in trafficking heroin.

The prime accused aged 38 was jailed for 20 years.

The other two aged 45 and 27 were given 10 year jail terms each.
