CID arrests monk

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a man in robes from a temple in Bandarigoda, Induruwa in connection with a series of crimes in Bentota, Aluthgama. Police media sources revealed the monk supported and accommodated the suspects to commit crimes.

Police also suspect he supported two incidents of robbery, Rs 2,300,000 worth gold jewellery theft in Bentota and Rs 40 million worth jewellery and gem theft in Aluthgama recently.
