KODIPPILY - MABEL PRIYA (nee Samaraweera), left us
peacefully to meet her maker, on January 3rd, in her 82nd year surrounded by
family and much love, at her daughter's home in Canada. She was the loving
daughter of the late Salvation Army Brigadiers F.R. and Millicent Samaraweera;
ever-loving & beloved wife of the late Dr Lakshman A.J. Kodippily, beloved
mother of much cherished children Renuka (George) and Nirupa (Garry), proud,
adoring and cherished grandmother of Aasha (Rodney), Avanthi, Shivan and Shaila;
dear sister to Naomi Swarna (late Ana) and Frank Ratne (late Kamala), caring
aunt to Janaki, Geetha (Prasanna), Aruni (Charith) and Asitha (Chathuri) and
their families; dear sister-in-law to the late Marjorie, late Beryl (late Geo),
Christobel (late Denzil), late Enid (late Paul), aunt to Gehan (Shyamali),
Mandrupa (Oleap), Shyara (Indra), Annagi (late Jim), Rukma (Stan), Jagath (Sonali),
Giyan (Ruth) and families; lifelong friend, cousin, counselor, coach, to so many
whose lives she touched. The funeral service took place in North York, Ontario,
Canada on Friday, January 7th, 2011 followed by a private cremation. A service
of Celebration and Thanksgiving for her life was held the same afternoon at the
Church of Our Saviour, Don Mills, Ontario. According to her wishes, her ashes
have been brought home to be interred with her husba
