Trishaw driver transporting 14 students nabbed

A man transporting 14 students in a three - wheeler was arrested by Hasalaka Police at Keenagaspitiya on Tuesday. The driver was operating the three - wheeler as a school transport service, Police said. Students travelling in the three-wheeler were aged between five and 13.

Gold snatch thieves on the rise

Thirty cases of gold chains being snatched during the day have been reported from the Kurunegala district last year, the Police said. In the latest incident, two suspects snatched a gold chain from a teacher last week while she was waiting at a bus stop, Weerambugedera Police said.
