OMVSC into quarters

Old Moratu Vidyalian Sports Club registered a first innings vicory
over Crusaders Sports Club, Kalutara and entered into the quarter finals
of the inter club division two, Donoval Andree Trophy Tournament
organized by Sri Lanka Cricket and played at Kalutara. Out of the six
games OMVSC registered two outright victories and four first innings
wins and remained unbeaten in the first round.
Batting first visitors scored 220 runs with Avishka Peiris and Lakmal
Gomes scoring 49 runs each and Pathmanath Perera claimed 5 for 66 for
the homesters.
In reply homesters were bowled out for 129 runs with Lakmal Gomes
bagging 4 for 10 runs and in their second essay OMVSC piled up 289 runs
with Milinda Sepala and Chaminda Nirosha scoring 56 and 53 runs
respectively. Set to make 381 runs for an outright victory homesters
were 54 for 3 at close of play.
