Sri Lanka in grand 36-8 win
Sri Lanka led by dashing third row forward Yoshitha Rajapaksa scored
a smashing 36 points (four goals, one try, one penalty) to 8 points (one
try, one penalty) win over Chinese Taipei in their HSBC Asian Five
Nations division one rugby match in Manila, Philippines on Sunday.

The Lankans opened scoring in the very first minute of the game when
centre Dinusha Chathuranga dashed through to touch down mid right. Reza
Mubarak missed the conversion. A few minutes later Chinese Taipel
reduced the deficit when full back Chu Chen Wei put over a 25 metre
penalty. Five minutes later Wei missed a sitter of a penalty from 20
metres out.
In the 12th minute sturdily built flanker Sumedha Malewana powered
his way to touch down near the posts and Reza Mubarak added the extra
points. Reza Mubarak then fired across a 25 metre penalty to make it
15/3. Eighteen minutes later Sri Lanka centre Charith Seneviratne sliced
through the Chinese Taipei defence to score under the posts. Mubarak
made no mistake with the conversion.
In the 35th minute lock forward Hasitha Perera crashed through for a
try and Reza Mubarak converted to give the Sri Lankans a 29-3 lead at
the breather.
Soon after resumption Chen Chia Hen scored an unconverted try for
Chinese Taipei to reduce the deficit (8-36). Midway in the second half
two Sri Lankan players were sent into the ‘Sin Bin'. Five minutes before
the final whistle centre Mohamed Sheroff scored for Sri Lanka and Dev
Anand converted to give the Lankans a resounding 36-8 win.
