Yala Sirisumana students showing colours in English language

For the first time in the history of Yala Sirisumana Kanista
Vidyalaya (KV) in Bulathsinhala Education Division, Horana Education
Zone, Grade 9 student K S Chamadi has received the first place in the
2011 Western Province inter school English recitation (category A)
competition. She has also received the first place in the English
announcing contest at the zonal level.
Yala Sirisumana KV is one of the underprivileged schools in
Bulathsinhala Education Division with 54 students. At the divisional
level English language competitions H R Tharuka (grade 10) and P W
Dilhani (grade 10) have also received the first place in prepared speech
and English news reading competitions.
Authorities in the English unit, Horana education zone and the people
in Yala area are very happy about the development in the English
education section in this remote school.
These students have shown their colours in this field as D M L
Champika and N Somalatha, the teachers of English in this school have
trained them under the instructions of A Samarathunga, Principal of the
school.
