Metanoia promotes Sri Lankan BPO sector at Sri Lanka EXPO
Metanoia Partners Limited, a leading UK consulting and back office
services provider promoted the Sri Lankan BPO sector by bringing their
clients to Sri Lanka Expo in March 2012. The recent Sri Lanka Expo drew
nearly 1500 overseas delegates from more than 50 countries. The four day
event was highlighted with the Expo exhibition and match making events
for overseas clients to meet and do business with Sri Lankan companies.
Metanoia Partners was represented by Dennis Scott, Managing Partner,
and he was accompanied by his UK clients. Commenting on the Sri Lanka
Expo, Scott said "I was introduced to the EXPO by the Sri Lankan High
Commission in London. I was supported by Jonathan Webber MBE, from UK
Trade and Investment and I received a lot of assistance from British
High Commissioner John Rankin and the British High Commission in Colombo
and Chris Nonis, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in UK.
What made it a greater success was the professionalism of the Sri
Lankan BPO community and meeting Minister Basil Rajapaksa gave me and my
clients confidence that Sri Lanka is serious about making BPO work".
Neil Askew from Askews Chartered Certified Accountants was invited by
Metanoia and he was extremely impressed on his first visit to Sri Lanka.
Askew said, "Metanoia has given me insight. Sri Lanka has one of the
finest BPO perations in the world for my target market, the UK SME
sector. We intend to increase our existing business with Metanoia
specifically our BPO operations, including Financial Accounting
Outsourcing (FAO), Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) and Search Engine
Optimization (SEO). I am really happy that I accepted the Metanoia
invitation to attend the EXPO".
Metanoia Partners launched its Asian operations in 2010 with its
regional headquarter in Colombo. Apart from offering back office
services to SMEs in UK and Europe, Metanoia has partnered with the
IAAITC (www.iaaitc.org ) to help Sri Lankan BPO service providers
achieve compliance with the European information security directives and
theUK Data Protection Act.
Scott commented "With the recent scandals in the Indian BPO market
where they were selling UK credit card details to criminals, Sri Lankan
BPO providers have a great opportunity to prove their data security
credentials by working with Metanoia to become certified and to be
compliant. This will be a great competitive advantage against Indian BPO
operators."
