Danesha Perera re-elected ISMM President
Danesha Perera was re-elected unanimously for another term at the
Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Supply and Material
Management (ISMM) held recently at the OPA Auditorium.
Addressing the members Perera said that professionals need to focus
on frequent market changes. The current market conditions are very
complex and competitive due to local, regional and global conditions.
Therefore professionals cannot perform the duties as expected unless
otherwise they gather versatile knowledge.
A person who needs to perform well must focus on the knowledge bank,
he said. He reiterated that customers' needs and wants are also changing
very frequently. Customer demands for variety and different choices
since his desires are different from time to time and place to place.
Customers learn fast by fast communication methods such as email,
Internet and electronic media. Customers are exposed to good and bad
very fast.
He also said customers network fast with different groups of people,
cultures and beliefs.
Also he requested to focus on the demographic and geographical
differences.
Danesha Perera is a well known person in the industry as a highly
qualified and recognized professional in the field of operational and
supply chain management who has led the ISMM in the year 2011/12 very
successfully.
He is a Fellow of the Institute and Life member of the Organization
of Professional Associations (OPA).
Also currently he serves in the OPA Executive Committee and in the
Forum as the Association Member of the ISMM. He is currently working at
Aitken Spence Hotel Managements (Pvt) Ltd as an Assistant Vice President
in charge of SCM. |
