Over 30 Sri Lankan companies will participate in the three day
Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Show (FJAS 2012), scheduled to be held
from April 20 to 22 in India's business capital, Mumbai. The event, open
for business to business only, will take place in the Bombay Exhibition
Centre from 10 am to 7 pm on all three days. The event is presented by
‘Alex Jewellery India’ and is being organized by the Imitation Jewellery
Manufacturers Association (IJMA).
Over 6000 trade visitors from all over India as well as from Gulf
countries, South Asian countries, Australia and Canada are expected to
take part in this event. This includes, manufacturers, importers,
exporters, wholesale dealers, retail dealers and chains, malls,
jewellery and accessories designers, buying houses and agents,
institutes, allied service industries, individual designers, fashion
houses and labels. IJMA will provide imitation iewellery manufacturers
and suppliers with an opportunity to showcase their latest and best
products and services.
An official from IJMA said that this event would an advantageous
meeting place for Sri Lankan companies to find manufacturers since most
of them cannot be contacted as there is no association in the country.
“This would be the ideal meeting point to lay the foundation or future
partnerships,” the official added.
IJMA would also explore the feasibility to form a Federation of All
India Imitation Jewellery Manufacturers and Traders Associations at
national level. They have also confirmed their presence at three major
nation-wide exhibitions, enabling them to promote FJAS 2012. This will
be furthered through exclusive road shows which will be held across 21
Indian cities.
The official said that as a part of a good will gesture IJMA would
host Sri Lankan and other global participants two night's accommodation
and transport during the event, with free entrance to trade visitors.
The organizers believe that they will be ‘revolutionizing traditional
styles with contemporary designs for tomorrow’ by positioning their
brand to quality buyers from all across India and the world in just
three days. With IJMA's presence in the industry, trade fairs in India
and abroad, event mailers have been posted to over 1000 addresses
internationally and they have also personalized one on one meetings with
the target exhibitor and visitor companies nationally and globally.
Imitation Jewellery Manufacturers Association (IJMA) was established in
1986 by a few intuitive entrepreneurs who aimed towards uniting all
manufacturers under one common goal that being to collectively work
together to enhance the status of the industry that was facing a grave
survival crisis. This was due to a lack of proper infrastructure for
production, poor marketing system and government apathy. As of now, IJMA
have more than 1500 members in its association and this is owed to their
joint efforts and commitment towards their objectives. |
